What to Expect
Your Results Timeline

Skin feels clean without tightness. No dry pull. No stripped sensation. The difference from a conventional cleanser is immediate.
Week 1
Skin tone more even after each wash. Less redness at the surface. Skin more receptive to the Anti-Pigmentation Cream applied after.
Week 2–3
Surface clarity visibly improved. Blemish-related dark marks begin to fade faster. Patches appear less pronounced.
Month 2
Consistent use builds a cumulative reduction in surface inflammation — the baseline trigger for pigmentation to worsen is measurably lower.

Your Daily Ritual
Wet your face and neck thoroughly with lukewarm water. This is important — lukewarm water opens the pores aggressively and increases post-wash reactivity. Lukewarm allows the botanical actives to work without stimulating inflammation.
This formulation is concentrated. Apply a small amount to the face, neck, and along the jaw. The lather will be gentler than conventional face washes. This is the absence of sulphates, not insufficient cleansing.
Massage in small circular motions for 60 seconds. This is not decoration — 60 seconds of massage is what allows the Sandalwood and Turmeric actives to work at the skin surface. Most people wash for under 20 seconds. The extra 40 seconds is where the difference happens.
Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Pat dry — do not rub. Immediately proceed to the Anti-Pigmentation Cream while skin is still slightly damp. Damp skin is most receptive. Use twice daily: morning and evening.
Pro Tips
1. The 60-second rule: Set a timer for the first two weeks. Most women are surprised how much shorter their actual wash time has been. The botanical actives need contact time to do their work — sandalwood and turmeric do not work on skin that is rinsed in 15 seconds. After two weeks it becomes instinctive.
2. Morning versus evening use: The evening wash is more important than the morning. Evening is when the skin is removing the day's accumulated sunscreen, pollutants, and stress-produced sebum — all of which, if left overnight, will compound the inflammation that drives pigmentation. Do not skip the evening wash. The morning wash sets up the skin for the day's sun exposure. Both matter, but differently.

Sacred Heritage
Rooted in a Tradition That Never Needed Chemistry
A face wash does one of two things. It clears the skin surface while preserving what the skin needs — or it clears everything, including the acid mantle, the natural oils, and the conditions that allow subsequent products to penetrate.
Most face washes do the second. Sulphate-based surfactants are effective at removing debris, but they are indiscriminate. They remove the protective film that maintains the skin's pH, disrupts its microbiome, and leaves it temporarily more reactive and less able to absorb anything applied afterward. For skin already dealing with hyperpigmentation — a condition rooted in chronic inflammation — this is compounding the problem with every wash.
This formulation was built differently.
Sandalwood (steam-distilled extract) is one of the few botanical actives with documented evidence for both skin-soothing and melanin-regulating properties. Santalol — its primary active compound — inhibits tyrosinase activity, the same enzyme pathway that Licorice Root targets in the Anti-Pigmentation Cream. Used in the wash, it begins preparing the skin surface before the cream is applied. Siddha physicians have classified Sandalwood as Varnya — complexion-restoring — for generations.
Turmeric (curcumin) in rinse-off form reduces the surface inflammation that, left unaddressed, continually restimulates melanin production. For skin that is reactive, stress-inflamed, or hormonally active — which is the specific condition of the 35–50 Indian woman this face wash is specifically designed for — daily anti-inflammatory cleansing reduces the baseline trigger for pigmentation to worsen.
Neem deeply cleanses without stripping. Its antimicrobial properties prevent post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from blemishes. Women who have found that breakouts leave dark marks will notice this pattern changes with consistent Neem use.
Orange Blossom (steam-distilled) refines and tightens pores, reducing the surface congestion that makes patches appear more pronounced. Myrrh contributes to cell turnover, loosening pigmented surface cells so they shed naturally rather than accumulating.
Aloe Vera (Kumari) and Rose Water together maintain the skin's hydration and pH balance through the cleansing process — ensuring the acid mantle is preserved, not disrupted. Holy Basil (Tulsi) supports circulation at the skin surface. Tea Tree Oil addresses the microbiological conditions that lead to blemish-triggered pigmentation.
The result is a rinse-off product that — unlike any conventional face wash — actively reduces the conditions that cause pigmentation, while preparing the skin for the Anti-Pigmentation Cream to work without interference.
No Sulphates. No Parabens. No Synthetic Fragrances. No Artificial Colours. Certified organic.
Founder's Note

I used to wash my face quickly — one step I wanted to get through before the rest of the routine. I didn't think much about what a cleanser was actually doing.
A Siddha physician changed that. She asked me to think of the wash not as removing dirt, but as preparing the ground. A farmer doesn't skip tilling and expect seeds to take. The cleanse is the tilling.
When I changed how I washed my face — with this formulation, with the two minutes it deserves — what came after it worked differently. Not because the cream changed. Because the skin was actually ready.
That is what this wash is for. — Soumya, Co-Founder

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I already use a gentle face wash. Why would I switch to this one?
A: Most gentle face washes are sulphate-free but still use synthetic surfactants that leave a residue affecting how subsequent products absorb. This formulation uses steam-distilled botanicals as its cleansing base — no synthetic surfactants. The difference is felt in the first wash: clean without tight, without a squeaky surface, without stripping. If you are using an anti-pigmentation cream and not seeing the results you expected, your cleanser is the most likely reason.
Q: Can a face wash actually help with pigmentation, or does it only prepare the skin?
A: Both. Sandalwood and Turmeric — the primary actives — have documented evidence for inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme that triggers melanin overproduction. In a rinse-off product, the contact time is shorter than a leave-on cream, so the direct pigmentation effect is modest. The more significant contribution is preparation: removing surface inflammation, clearing residue, and preserving the acid mantle so the Anti-Pigmentation Cream reaches the melanocytes at depth rather than sitting on the surface. Used alone, this wash improves clarity. Used as the first step before the cream, the result is meaningfully better than either product used in isolation.
Q: How often should I use it, and is it suitable for daily use?
A: Twice daily — morning and evening. It is formulated for daily use without sensitisation. There are no acids, no exfoliating particles, no synthetic surfactants. Women with reactive or perimenopausal skin who have found other cleansers cause redness or tightness typically find this formulation calming rather than triggering. If skin is very dry or compromised, once daily in the evening is sufficient.
Q: My pigmentation is mostly hormonal or stress-related. Will a face wash make any difference?
A: Yes — specifically this one. Cortisol-driven and hormonal pigmentation is worsened by surface inflammation: the skin that is chronically reactive at the surface produces more melanin in response to every trigger. Turmeric (curcumin) in the wash reduces this baseline inflammation daily. It will not reverse hormonal pigmentation on its own — that requires the Anti-Pigmentation Cream working at depth — but it removes one of the daily inputs that makes hormonal pigmentation progressively worse.
Q: Can I use this if I wear sunscreen daily? How does it interact with SPF products?
A: Yes. This wash removes sunscreen effectively without requiring double-cleansing — the steam-distilled botanical base dissolves both water-based and light oil-based sunscreens. For heavy or mineral SPFs, a brief second pass is sufficient. The wash does not strip the moisture barrier in the way that micellar waters or oil cleansers can, so no additional barrier-repair step is needed after use.
