For years, I watched my daughter struggle with severe hair loss and pigmentation. As a mother, you pour everything into trying to fix it — every treatment, every cream, every specialist. You forget about yourself completely.

And then one day, I realized: While obsessing over my daughter's suffering, my own body was showing the cost. Patches of dark pigmentation spread across my face like a map of my stress. My hair — once thick and healthy — was falling out in handfuls. Not gradually. Dramatically.

I tried dermatologists. Chemical peels. Expensive treatments from premium brands. Nothing worked long-term. Or worse, things would improve temporarily and then come crashing back worse than before.

When a Siddha practitioner in Coimbatore finally healed my daughter with 5,000-year-old formulations prepared with sacred chants, I watched something shift in her. Not just her hair growing back. But her remembering she was sacred.

And I realized: I had forgotten too.

The same Siddha rituals that restored her also restored me. My pigmentation began fading — not overnight, but steadily over months. My hair stopped falling. But more importantly, something inside me shifted.

The rituals didn't just heal my skin and hair. They helped me remember I was allowed to exist, not just serve. That self-care wasn't selfish — it was sacred.

That's why I co-founded Zuame with my husband Hari.
